Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a crimson sprocket wheel of six points fimbriated gold and bearing a black annulet containing a light blue disc charged with a white crescent all between in base a semi-circular crimson scroll inscribed "PRIDE IN EFFICIENCY" in gold letters; areas on each side of the point above the scroll are pierced.

Symbolism
The sprocket wheel is used to symbolize the unit's former mission to provide command and technical operational supervision of attached maintenance units. The annulet alludes to continuous mobility. The crescent on the blue background was suggested by the State flag of South Carolina. The crescent is also symbolic of vigilance or watchfulness. Crimson and blue are colors used by Maintenance units, the former designation of the unit.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 751st Maintenance Battalion on 4 March 1971. It was redesignated effective 1 September 2008, for the 751st Support Battalion with the description and symbolism updated.

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the South Carolina Army National Guard: From a wreath Or and Crimson, upon a mount Vert a palmetto tree Proper charged with a crescent Argent.
